Organizational Context
The International Maritime Organization (IMO) is the United Nations specialized agency with responsibility for the measures to improve the safety and security of international shipping and to prevent pollution from ships. The Technical Cooperation and Implementation Division focuses on supporting Member States in implementing IMO's regulatory framework.
Job Purpose
To provide expert consultancy services to support the Technical Cooperation and Implementation Division's objectives.
Responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis on maritime technical cooperation issues; Prepare reports, policy briefs, and other relevant documentation; Provide advice and recommendations to the Division; Support the implementation of technical assistance projects; Contribute to the development of training materials.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in the maritime sector, with a focus on technical cooperation, policy development, or project implementation. Experience working with international organizations or governments is desirable.
Skills
Strong analytical and research skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks; Proficiency in relevant software applications.
